2002 ml 320
looking at buying another ml

I have found a 2002 ml 500 designo edition with 33K miles. It is an estate vehicle with complete service records. The vehicle looks new.

What do you guys think it is worth? Banks and insurance companies top out a $7.5K usd.

My 320 has over 200K miles and has been very trustworthy. I plan to keep this one until it dies.

Also, what problems do I need to be aware of in the 2002 ML500?

1999 and 2004 ml's
Finally had to donate my 1999 ML320 after 343,000 faithful miles; few problems over the years although the rear engine seal leaked 1qt/week and the RH exhaust manifold cracked and needed replacement. I would have repaired these things myself if I had the time and the wife was more patient; the expense of taking it to a repair shop was way more than the car was worth.

2005 ML350 Sport
I have a 05 ML350 I think that that year was the best one made of the W163 body. All the bugs were worked out by then and it runs fabulous. Mileage is edging at 195k and it burns zero oil between changes. Have used 91 or better octane since I've owned it in 2009 with 24k miles on it. There weren't as many electronics on it as the 2006 model year. The newer 2020-2021 are smaller in size even the GLC has smaller front cabin leg room.

I have a 2004 and totally agree. 199K miles, burns no oil, starts right up. More old school, less electronic bull****. The Gen1 ML's with the truck frame is just a solid robust build. Mine feels like it will run forever.
