ML320 (2000) A/C and Aux. Fan Problem
The A/C is not functioning. It turns on, however it blows air at ambient temperature. I thought that it might be a freon leak, but a mechanic could not add freon to it. The reason -- the aux. fans in front of the radiator are not working.
Could the A/C failure be due entirely to the fan failure? If "yes," then the fan fix may be the #44 fuse, the switch, the #26 relay, or the blower motor, according to information posted in various forums.
If the A/C failure is separate and distinct from the fan failure, then I may have to go the expensive route of a new compressor or other component.
Your thoughts on, and experiences with, this type of problem would be greatly appreciated.

When the A/C is turned on, does the clutch on the front of the compressor turn continuously?
The two electrical fans are not supposed to come on as soon as A/C is requested. Please read.
