Have an issue with my 99 ml320, goes into limp mode only when the engine is hot, will run and drive fine once hot if I turn engine off and then turn ignition on limp mode activated, no fault shown on an engine code reader, anyone got any thoughts or suggestions!!!!!

You are not explaining what happens when you go into Limp Mode.

There are 3 types of Limp Mode, throttle, transmission or Transfer Case.

Any Limp Mode will store a code. Only the proper scanner will reveal those codes. A simple code reader will not due.

Hi maj thanks for your response, once engine hot turn ignition off put key back in turn it until ignition lights come on alarm will sound warning and Brake lights stay on engine will start and run only have 1St and reverse gears, not able to get a proper diagnostic on it yet

When you say brake lights, do you mean the rear brake lights?

From a cold start and when the IC does it's check,does the CEL light up and quickly go out!!
