2003 ml350 esp electrical problems
so this car came back from the body shop and the esp/bas light is on and the brake light and e brake light keep flashing and the buzzer keeps going off. I've tried replacing the battery, alternator, e brake sensor and brake fluid cap. this model doesn't have a brake light switch. any ideas? the only codes are in the ESP -fault or defect in CAN communication.
"supposedly" the only thing the body shop did was paint the bumper. the only thing you have to unplug from the bumper is the radio antenna I've checked that and all the grounds that i could find back there.
update- not sure if anyone is reading but I've tried a few things with no success. I've tried replacing the transfer case motor that did nothing. i tried replacing the shifter that did nothing. i opened up the egs control unit and cleaned all the fluid off of it and that did nothing. i think i might have to replace the etc control unit but its on the pump itself I've seen them go bad on older models where its behind the fuse box. but never a newer one like this. I've never seen anything like this before. tons of different new fault codes now too there all CAN codes something somewhere is burned up i just hope its not the etc control unit
