Clicking sound headlights - w163 - 2002 ML55 AMG
I ordered a pair of TYC headlight assemblies off of Amazon to replace the OEM assemblies on my 2002 ML55 AMG.
After removing the driver's side headlight assembly, I noticed that the TYC assembly was missing an entire set of connector pins. The two sets nearest the fender were OK, but the third (e.g. closest to the center of the engine) was missing. On further reading, I'm guessing I incorrectly purchased halogen headlight assemblies instead of xenon. I'm returning the TYCs, and have re-installed the OEM assembly.
A few questions:
1. With the OEM assembly reinstalled, I am now noticing a pronounced click and "thunk" sound when I switch on the high beams. There is only one click+thunk (simultaneous) noise when I switch on the high beam - it is not a recurring noise. The sound is fairly loud and definitely new to the car. The click sounds like it is coming from both the light and the fuse box under the glove box near the passenger side door, and the thunk is from the front end of the car.
I am guessing I reconnected pins on the original assembly incorrectly. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?
2. Can anyone recommend a solid replacement assembly for the 2002 ML55 AMG with xenons? Also - how can I tell whether I am running xenons or bi-xenons?
Thanks in advance.

The owner's manual states that they are bi-Xenon.
Relay K6 in the right side kick panel fuse box controls the High Beams.
Key out of ign. and set light stalk to OFF position. Remove relay K6 and reinsert, and see if that helps.
