W163 - Cabin Air Filter Question

Hi Forum,

Had a feeling my Cabin air filter was filthy so i got a MANN one from a store here. I took out the old one, and yes, super dirty. The old one (OEM?) was a plastic casing with those filters threads attached to it.

It only did fit one way.

The new one i got is just a paper version, even edges are paper which should be fine i guess? But, it has a note and an arrow "Airflow this way" Question is, which way does air flow? if i look up there, i see sort of a radiator looking thing to the left and just an opening to the right.

If it right to assume that air flows from the right, then towards the driver seat so to speak and then gets cooled or heated by that radiator looking thing?

Hi there, the filter actually looks the same on both sides. There is text on the bottom "airflow this way" that's why i asked which way the air flows.

Found out on the MANN website that air flows from right to left from a PDF on MANN's website, wished they included that diagram with the filter

Anyhow, all good now, just updating the post is anyone else wonder. Below is the link for installation (and airflow direction for W163)

I use the Mann filter with activated charcoal. They are great. There are many videos on YouTube that will help with the up keep of your truck.
