insane ABS/ESP problem ML320CDI 2007
Hi,
My 2007 ML 320 CDI has been to the dealer 5 times already, they change some part every time, but the problem still remains:
On some days, when just starting driving from for example an intersection, the car starts breaking just by itself, as I press gas, the ESP/ABS flashes and it stops.
If I try again, after a while it drive (sometimes I have to switch off the ignition and do it again) and then ABS/ESP unavailable warning comes up, together with Run flat indicator inoperative.
The first time I've brought it to the dealer they said the error code was one of the rear wheels speed sensor.
They replaced the sensor, problem stayed, they replaced the bearing with the other part of the sensor, still the same problem, now getting worse (more often).
Anybody has experienced the same? Any advice?
Cheers

I'm experiencing the same issues! ESP! flashes for no reason. I know this is an old thread but hoping someone else has any experience with this. Could it be the wheel sensors or yaw sensor? Trying to piece this thing together.

riding the same boat, waiting for new ABS sensors to come in to see if they will resolve the issue.
It started in right rear wheel. i did some reading and found an article about the actual wiring harness between body and sensor may be at fault. i took it apart, but found nothing. I switched the sensors around in the back and no problem is in left rear. looks like its the sensor. Crossing fingers

Ok story ended...all 4 ABS sensors were changed and the problem went away on its own. it was left front that was making all this buzz!!!
On the side note, i took an OHM meter to see what the difference is in reading. All sensors showed .399 that faulty one showed .404..i guess it was enough to make these numbers scramble. Whats weird is the new sensors show 0. Upgrade from active to passive?

wow.
I have had 2 cars for 150K and 190K and 10 years and never had any problems with ABS sensors. The only sensor I have ever replaced was the O2 sensor at about 150k or so and finally sold it for 5 grand at 190k to someone in the neighborhood. I still see him driving the car smooth.... Granted it is not German Engineering. The one with 150K was totaled and that is when I had to rush and get another car and ended up with the 2010 ML350. On this car, I never even changed the spark plugs. All I did was oil change at every 10K and transmission fluid replacements at 60K.

if i remember correctly it was some mechanical/electrical problem inside the esp/abs assembly - they had to replace the whole unit. maybe the hydralical unit, not sure anymore, was undr warranty
