White Battery symbol in Dashboard Display - 2008 ML350
Hi,
I am getting White Battery symbol in Dashboard Display after accidentally leaving door open overnight which drained my battery out. I had to jump the car to start. After that I charged main battery for 12 hours using my battery charger still I saw same Icon. Thinking Auxilary battery is bad, I replaced Brand New Aux. battery and still same issue. I went to Advanced Auto part and got main battery tested and they said your main battery is fine.
What else could be wrong ? Can someone please tell me White Battery Symbol sign is for Aux. Battery or it could be main battery ?. Do you think if I wait couple of days it will go away because alternator will charge battery after some use of car ?
My car is 2008 ML 350

Finally White Battery went away not sure what was exact issue but I beleive there is one small wire on Negative Terminal which was not connected. After connecting it went away or may be after running car for day or two went away but now I do not have White Batter Symbol.
Yes, I did reset error codes using OBD2 scanner. I do not think there was any code related to battery though. I do not think low battery shows any specific Error code.

2008 ML350 on board alternator test (before you replace your battery!)
2008 ML350 (should work for other models as well....I have an 08 ML350 so I know it works on that)
- Turn key to acc position (do ot turn vehicle on)
- Cycle through dash menu so that you have the odometer display on
- Hit the R button three times quickly
You will see the battery voltage level on dash. 12V is good
Turn vehicle on and a few moments later the voltage reading will change to 13.8V. That means the alternator is doing it's job.
