Cargo Cover doesn't retract

From day one, my pre-owned 2006 ML500 cargo cover didn't work. It doesn't retract.
I took it apart and looks like some parts are missing but couldn't figure out how the retracting mechanism works and which parts are missing.
There is a small spring on each side end but I don't think these springs are for retracting the cover. Obviously there are some missing parts where I circled as well.

Can someone tell me what parts do I need to make it retract?

Thanks in advance.

Would be lots easier to buy another. Never heard of anyone successfully repairing one. From time to time there are guys selling one on this forum

There is a screw that winds up tension in the spring inside, but getting the tension built up is not gonna fix your shade because of the missing piece.
