174,322 and counting 2007 ML 350
My well loved ML has 174,322 and counting. No major issues so far.
brakes @ 120,000
thermostat @ 145,000
all scheduled maintenance preformed on time.
hail storm in 2014 caused my insurance to repaint the entire car and replace windshield.
simply a wonderfully engineered and manufactured automobile.

I was hoping to run my 2010 for 250,000 miles. Mercedes certainly have the reputation for long lasting cars but does anyone have any high mileage ML350's out there? BTW, 90% of my driving is on the highway and it is not unusual for me to put on 2000 miles in one week on occasion.
Please keep replies on topic to my question.
Thanks!

My ml320 cdi 2006 has 320 000 km on it with no major issues. Recently changed icu electronic module for transmittion.
The secret is every 6000 km new man oil filter, new oil mb 229.51 gulf western (7.5 l and a bottle of Lucas oil stabisator 975ml). Every 15 000km add diesel injection cleaner together with DPF cleaner. Transmittion fluid need to be changed every 30 000 km.
This engine should go till 500 000 km without any issues if looked like this.
Good luck

2009 ML350 4matic here with 152,000 miles.
Timing chain replaced at ~75k miles, and water pump at ~78k miles. Other than that just a couple of door lock actuators replaced.
Love the car. It runs great on the interstate at high speed but tows and does great in snow. I’m planning on keeping it for another 100k miles.

174K on my 2011 ML 350 BlueTec. No “significant” issues thus far. Have done a fair amount of preventative and restorative MX myself. Changed all four shocks, complete brake jobs, filters, fluids, etc. I did have the driver door handle sensor go out such that the Keyless Go did not work from outside the car. Handle replacement was straight forward. Did have to take it to a body shop for color match. I hope to drive it to 200K and beyond. My 1987 300D Turbo went 400K before rust, no AC and time took it’s toll.

Reviving old thread, was the front wheel bearing on right or left. I swear I hear a bearing going on my 2008 ML350 with 125,000 on it, right front if I was to guess. Did not really want to deal with pulling off the bearing... doing all four corners now with new Bosch quiet-cast rotors and pads...

Aren't the wheel bearings bolt-on? If you are doing pads and rotors, the wheel bearing should be a small amount of incremental work. 4 bearing flange bolts and the axle nut. An impact is a big help with the axle nut. Might need to remove a dust shield and ABS speed sensor to get the bearing off.

2007 ML celebrating 210,000 miles!
I have a 2007 W164 pushing 210K miles and shes the love of my life! I will never get rid of this vehicle for 2 reasons: 1) I have put way too many hours of labor into her, and 2) the years and memories we've made! Sure, I've replaced a ton of things (suspension, transmission propeller, Rear SAM, steering pump, bearings of all sorts, etc) but have also saved by doing it largely myself. If you take care of this truck, it will take care of you! That being said, it can be something of an electrical gremlin- but the community here has always sorted me out!

I have a 2010 ML350 4-Matic and just turned over 160k miles. This is by far the best car I have ever owned. The only issue was a failed wheel speed sensor (right rear) at about 145k miles. I have been very on point with the required maintenance and upkeep. Most of the miles are highway miles as I am still on the second set of brakes and rotors. I am sure this car is good for for another 100k... As a matter of fact, my mechanic at the Mercedes Benz here in NC wants to buy my car.
I have a new 2021 GLS450 on order. I can only hope I get the same type of reliability out of my new MB.

@NCMountie If you like trinkets and nostalgia, you can apply for a 250k km (155k miles) medallion from Mercedes. Talk to the service manager at your dealer to fill out the application.

2011 ML350 4-Matic
180,000
Just about to cross the 180K mark. Was the wife's and when we got her a new Infiniti I sold my 325i and took over the '11 ML350 for the last 40K miles. I do my own maint and just removed driver lower seat cushion to have fixed due to seam starting to seperate just a bit. Have replaced spark plugs, PS pump/reservoir. Going strong. Sound car! Looking at a '18 GLE350 and at handing down my ML to my daughter. Great for the weather here int he mountains of western NC.

2011 ML350 ~46,000
Only issue I considered non maintenance was Replaced belt tensioner & belt. And that was after 8 years and 31,000 miles.
Oh there is one gremlin I have yet to troubleshoot, the rear hatch sometimes stops midway when I press the close button. Then once I press it again it finally closes. This popped up about 3 years ago and have lived with it for now.

2009 Ml350 4matic with 208,661. I do a mobile one oil change with Lucas synthetic additive every 2500 miles. The valve cover gaskets leak causing it to use about an extra quart of oil every 3000 miles, I had to replace the alternator and the AC compressor, power steering unit and brake pads. Both of my keys broke so I had to have an aftermarket company make a new key after I pulled out the Ignition to send to them. But it's run pretty well.

186k here, 2010 ML350 base. This thing has been nearly flawless. I am so impressed...just little things here and there. Will need a new intake manifold and primary battery soon then off for another couple hundred thou I imagine.

I have a X164 2007 GL 320 CDI with 280k miles. My rear sam got fried by a back sunroof water leak. I want to buy an used rear sam, but the part number varies in all of the in the last 4 digits, for example ZB 164 540 XX XX. In your experience, when you changed the rear sam, was this an issue. Did you need programing or just changing it was enough?
Best regards.

250K on our 2009 ML550.
We bought it as a CPO car in 2012 w/60K miles, and for the first 9 years I was amazed at how few issues we had. Other than a rear wheel bearing and two rusted/cracked rear springs, nothing besides routine maintenance, and I towed our Nitro bass boat on long trips like a lunatic. Felt like I wasn't even pulling anything, even up steep grades.
Last year though, at maybe 210-220K miles, all hell broke loose. I had to have our shop fix two rotted brake lines, and the radiator, oil pan and transmission pan were also rotted. I think I paid about $6-7K to get all of that fixed last year, at which point I figured I was all in and driving it until it dies.
This year I started doing all the work myself. I recently changed the power steering pump, steering rack bushings and I'm just finishing up the transfer case chain which started skipping a couple of months ago.

Still got mine, 237460 miles today, still drive it long distances, still get over 600 miles per tank of diesel. Been using Penzoil Euro L 5w30 every 5K miles.
As for service issues, so far just wear and tear stuff.. brakes, front wheel bearings, tensioners and belt. Also had to have the headlights polished as they yellowed a bit.
Never kept a new purchase vehicle this long before. Body and interior still in mint condition.

M273 V8 is known for intake manifold flap failure. Separately, check compression and look for external oil leaks.
