Window Lock Stuck

Hi, I searched the forums but didn't see this particular issue.

The rear window lock button on my '07 ML350 is stuck down, in the lock position. Pressed it down and it stayed down, instead of toggling.

Was thinking of spraying lubricant in before taking it to the dealer. Is this a bad idea? Should I use teflon spray, WD40, 3 in 1 oil -- or none of the above?

Any help appreciated.

Remove the switch, spray it with some WD-40 and blow it dry with an air hose or buy a can of Blow Off Air Duster. Repeat the process a few times - it should fix your problem.

I ended up replacing mine, it went down and stayed there. Seemed like something snapped as I was pressing it down.

how did you remove the window switch?

I know that this is old but I was wondering if you could tell me how you removed the switch panel from the door? Did you have to remove the whole panel or does it pry up from the outside? I have the same problem as you did.

Thanks

I actually had mine done at the dealer, under CPO warranty. According to www.alldatadiy.com (same instructions as found in MB service manual). You have to remove the door panel. The switch is actually held in with a screw.
