09 ml 320 ad blue tank heater

my bluetec check engine light turn on two days ago, took it to the indy shop, they said heater inside the tank is bad, need to replace the whole tank want 1900. car just past the warranty by 3 months, does this cover under the extended emission warranty? The shop said he called the warranty department, is not covered. Is it hard to replace the tank? i heard there is a repair kit, anyone did them self.

I think you should try another dealer. AdBlue is most definitely an emissions system. Proof? Ask the dealer to remove the AdBlue system. :-)

Last year I had a lot of CEL's related to my AdBlue systems. Got a new AdBlue injector, NOx sensor, and about 7 car washes out of it before they found a bad connection somewhere in the rear of the car. Wish I knew exactly which connector as now this has happened to me I suspect that same connector whenever anyone has problems in the same area.

was yours done under the basic warranty or emission warranty. i red on my warranty book that the addictive tank is covered for 7 year and 70k for California. Seems like this adblue system is very unreliable, this is like the 4th time im having adblue issue.

The final fix was at 47 months and 49,500 miles into the 48 month/50,000 warranty so not being asked to pay for it I didn't pay any attention to how they billed it.

But I did buy a 2 year 24,000 extension. But not from "my" dealer because three times I asked the guy in charge of extended warranties said, "you don't qualify for M-B extension, only 3rd party" standing up, off the cuff, and wouldn't sit down and actually look it up. But a dealer 200 miles away would, did, and made the sale.
