06 ML 500 wont start
The problem is that when I push the start button the truck keeps on cranking but won't start. I took the fuel pump relay out, gave it a sec to reset put it back in then purged the fuel rail and it started, this problem kept reoccurring so I bought a new relay and it was fine for a while then it started happening again. Any ideas?

I would check fuel pressure. Those pumps were known to fail. I would also consider the crank position sensor. Your truck being an early 164 with the V8 should still have the M113 engine. The crank sensors were also known to fail on those engines.
You may have a stored/current fault for the crank sensor and the fuel pressure is easy enough to check with a generic fuel pressure gauge. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply, I just changed the crank pos sensor about 2-3 weeks ago. I will check the fuel pressure later today and look into a new pump

After inspecting the car it turned out (don't remember the exact name) the crank shaft positioning unit/sensor? was malfunctioning. Mechanic told me it's the thing that tells the engine what spark plugs to operate and when to inject fuel and similar things. Cost in the upper $200s to have it replaced quickly, as I needed my car the next day.
Don't know if you have a similar problem, but hope that my 2cents potentially help you, or at least allow you check yours and rule it out.

thanks for the reply, when i was reading up on this problem I came across that info, so that was one of the first things I replaced when this started happening. i ordered a new sending unit and fuel filter in hopes that will fix it.
