Every phone call to a EU auto "specialist" today resulted in a different answer to the following question: "Can the read SAM be recoded after installing hitch harness"?

1. "You need a new SAM and an additional harness to connect the new SAM to the existing wiring..." (True of False..?)
2. "You need to go with a "wireless" trailer light and trailer break set up instead of a new SAM.." (Best or Second Best idea..?)
3. "Since you purchased your OEM hitch and OEM harness through ECS tuning there's no guarantee it will work with a new SAM" (definitely false! ECS parts have the original MB part numbers and stickers)

Anyone come up with a "non-new" SAM solution? Love to hear the what/how of your "fix"
