2007 ML 350 CEL w/ p0012... balance shaft??
I've done my research on the subject and have read many threads regarding the balance shaft issue.
CEL keeps coming on for p0012.
P0012 "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1)
I have replaced all the cam magnets a few weeks ago. I then replaced the passenger side cam magnets once more about a week ago hoping it was a bad magnet. Afterwards, I replaced the passenger side cam sensors. All to no avail. The p0012 keeps coming back on.
It comes on after about 30-50 miles of being driven and that is the only code in the system (current and pending). Sometimes after driving, the CEL will go away for a while and come back on later.
Can this be a balance shaft issue with p0012 being the only fault code in the system? Any suggestions?
