2006 ML500 Harsh and jarring rear suspension
So my ML is riding terrible. Its not bouncy but very harsh at the rear and vibrating on the highway above 75mph. I just put new tires and had a wheel alignment done too. The vibration is not from an axle or driveshaft embalance either. The shocks are bone dry and very clean with no build up or leakage anywhere.
With that said though others have had bad shocks that were also clean and dry.
I would like to replace with the Bilstein comfort oem shocks but can't seem to find the correct part number.
What has been everyones experience with the rear suspension after replacement? Will the car finally ride nice again? I don't remember the ride ever being this **** poor...
Ill be doing the work myself and plan to change the lower rubber mounting bushings too as they look to be dry and cracked.
Thank you in advance!

Not to ask the obvious, but did your ML500 do this before the tires were replaced?

I had a similar experience and found the tire place "adjusted" my tire pressures to 35# front and 51# rear. Setting the tire pressure back to 32# around restored the ride back to normal.

Hope that helps...

Yup it definitely did this before I did the new tires and wheel alignment. I thought it was related to old worn tires and out of spec wheel alignment.
Going to do the standard bilstein 4600 shocks and new rubber mounting bushing.
I hope that cures it...
