Location of CrankShaft Position Sensor in 2008 ML350

Hi,
I am getting code P0019 and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what is the exact location of Crankshaft Position Sensor is. I looked everywhere and I could not find one. I can easily see, Camshaft sensor but I am looking for crankshaft position Sensor.

the crankshaft position sensor is located on the rear of the engine crankcase (on top) near the drivers side of the firewall.. It will not be easy to access or replace and I would strongly suggest letting the engine cool off overnight or for an extended period during the day.. Most mercedes engines have them in the same general location.

Here is the location. It is on the left rear of the eng. and is extremely difficult to remove because it has a heat shield covering it.

P0019 is for the Camshaft Exhaust Positioning Sensor, not the Crank Sensor.

You have conflicting info on your vehicles 350 and 320. Which one is correct.

Please select which vehicles you own and please UPDATE YOU PROFILE in USER CP.

I still can't see it

I tried and tried but wasn't able to see it. I could feel it though. I have ML V6 CDI. Is it better to get to it from under the car or through the wheel well?

I finally got the sensor replaced. It took all of 30 minutes on a lift. I can't understand those people that keep saying doing from the top is easy. From below it is clearly visible once the splash shield is removed. Thanks MajorDundee
