Running an aux cable out of the glove box?

I am not sure whether I want to use a Bluetooth adapter or run the aux cable directly to my phone, but either way I will need it to run out of the glove box. The problem I'm having is that the glove box won't close even with a flat cord. Is there a groove or some other method for doing this that I'm not finding?

I run a cable out of the side to connect my iPad. I carefully close the glove box and have not issues. I use this cable in my other Benz so I take it out after I use it. I have looked for a groove or an opening but have not found one. Sort of have the same problem in my 2012 C class. Even though I have blutooth audio, the aux connectors are in the center console. No where to run it cleanly. If you find a solution for the glove box I would be interested.

OK, I was able to get an even thinner flat cord and this one works fine, it can even slide a bit along the door seam.
