Cool leaky 07 ML350

Hello. I've had the check engine light on for about a year now and I had an air compressor thing fixed for $1500 but the CEL still persists. I had the codes read and had po106 and poo25 come up. The mechanic I went to said that the engine is leaking oil on the cam position sensor but the sensor itself is not defective. However, they suggested I get a new MAP sensor. Should I just believe that the CAM sensor isn't broken? I don't know how long this leak has been going on and Im confused as to how it could only be affecting one sensor. The leak can be fixed by replacing the valve cover gaskets and sealing up with RTV. Mechanic is trying to charge $693 for this. Is this a rip off?

Thanks in advance!
