2006 ML500...possible iPhone integration??
I have a 2006 ML500 with the Comand "system". I also believe it has the Harmon Kardon audio option as the speaker grilles have "Harmon Kardon" on them. My steering wheel has the phone buttons, the stereo head unit has some phone options in it. Also, my unit has the CD Changer in the glove box. I'm pretty sure there is also a built in mic for phone calls too.
My question is, is there anyway to get some iPhone integration with this old stereo system? I'd love to be able to play my music from my iphone 5 (or an older ipod) through the stereo. also, it'd be nice if I could sync my phone via bluetooth and make phone calls through the built in features of the car.
I've searched around and apparently, since this is a 2006 car, to use the phone stuff built in, you had to have a MB phone?!? WHAT?!
Hopefully some of you guys know of a better work around?

If you have the head unit I think you have, it may be more expensive than it is worth. this article helps to identify different versions of comand head units.

No, I think he probably has the NTG2. The one in your pic went out with the W163's. Anyway, it's an old thread, I'm sure the OP has moved on by now.

ML350, 2007 Passat
I have a 06 ML350. There should be a iPod jack inside the glove box, near the top left side. Also when you turn on the system, hit audio and see if AUX option is listed on the right part of the screen. That should tell you that you have AUX input. I have tried using my iPhones phone function in this manner, but I don't think it will work that way.
