Yes, Still on the 1 fluid change...
2 ML's a 2006 and a 2010. The '06 has 180K miles with no issues other than replacing the conductor plate with the 40,000 mile service and the '10 has about the same as you @ 120K miles with no issues.
Also have a 2000 C230 silver/sport edition with 281K miles on the original fluid with no issues.

Nope, never heard of "life time fluid". All I know is that 2011 onward mercedes models have the new updated version of the 722.9 gearbox and use different fluid than the previous models (blue in colour as I was told) and fluid can be changed up to 62k miles or 100k km

Get it changed every 40K to 80K (Changes after the first are not as critical since most of te contamination occurs early in the life of the clutch material.

Bwah HA HA! Lifetime fluid my ****.
I don't beleive W164 ever claimed lifetime did they?
My 2002 C Class actually says its sealed with a lifetime fill in the
owners manual. at 120K it started shifting very strangely, something
a complete flush and fill resolved, and I wrote my now famous DIY on the subject.
Thats for the 5 speed though.
ML fluid has been charged twice now since I got it at 60K. Now at 117K.
But thats been done by my mechanic, since it''s almost impossible to DIY.

Blame some of the Enviro-***** that started getting politicians to beat up auto manufacturers on lifetime environmental impact including waste fluids.
The good is extended oil changes, that bad is the concept of lifetime ATF.
One of the best resources is ZF. They don't design or build the current generation MB transmissions, but the technology is very similar and the maintenance recommendations make sense.

Lifetime in their words doesn't truly mean lifetime. Definitely change the fluid about every 40,000ish as stated above.
