Estimated Cost For Battery Replacement?
Go figure that on the first day our daughter drives our 2007 ML 350 to school as a new Senior, our friend won't start. MB Roadside gave us a free jump so off she went. Thought she might have left the lights on...but perhaps not...
Battery is original...so it may be time for replacement.
The local shop that does a great job on our ML/190 quoted $385 for labor and battery...seems reasonable but my wife wanted to know an MB dealer cost.
Any steer from MB World members on what they paid for a battery & install (I know the carpet has to be cut) would be welcome...

The carpet, hidden under the front passenger seat, already perforated for the two parallel 6" cuts, is a non-issue...........You'll never see the cut section again until the batteries, two, are changed again.
Connecting a power supply to the system while the batteries are removed is another totally unnecessary non-issue, as well as risking a chance of damaging the electrical system.
When I changed my ML's batteries, they were out for an hour and the only things affected were the four windows, the sun roof, and the folding feature of the two external mirrors. Resetting the automatic lowering and closing of all seven took all of two minutes; simply hold each switch in the closed position for a few seconds. Nothing else on the ML was affected. See the Owners's manual......
Replace both batteries with Ascorbic Glass Mat (ASM) type, which are far superior to the original VRLA type (Valve Regulated Lead Acid). Walmart, Sam's club, etc. sell the main battery for around $150, Batteries+Plus, a bit more. They are better than the original MB batteries. Batteries+Plus sells the small battery for about $20. I recommend you change both batteries while you're at it to avoid having to change the little one, in the same compartment, later.........
I believe installation is included with battery purchase. Batteries+Plus would seem like a good choice if you're having it done. $200 should cover changing both batteries.........

This past April, Pep-Boys offered the "Bosch Platinum Series AGM Battery Group Size H8/L5/49" for total $175 shipped and taxed. Then upon return of my core to a local store I got $16 back.

I replaced my battery about a year ago. Dealer wanted close to $550 CAD. Bought a suitable battery for ~$220 at a local Canadian Tire and changed it right in the store's parking lot in 30 minutes flat.

When we had to replace the battery on my wife's 2009 ML we had roadside on a Sunday morning come to us and replace the battery with a new OEM battery and it was roughly $300. The MB tech that came out to replace the battery told us that it is cheaper to have roadside change out the battery then taking in to the dealer and having it done there.

Could you please share what kind (model) did you buy ? As I understand, you have to make size but also it should be one without any liquid (gel,..)

I just changed both batteries I bought at Batteries Plus for $200. You have to ask for the 10% discount. My old one was down to 400cca. It started out at 850. They wouldn't install it, too difficult. I took them home and did it. Not for the faint of heart mind you. The hardest part was getting it up and out of the floor under the seat.
