screwed up and ran my 2008 ml320 through a wash and hydrolocked the motor

trying to decide on having the insurance total it or put another motor in it

the om642 comes in a lot of different cars/years

are all the long blocks the same?

would a later year om642 work?

or is there some way to determine/crossreference which years etc would work?

any info or suggestions of good rebuilders in the US would be great
