No Power, Heavy Noise abover 40 Miles, Seems not shifting Gear - SOLVED
I wanted to share my experience about Bad Wheel Bearing and hopefully it can save time of lots of others.
For last one year or more, my car would run very rough and I was feeling like car is not having enough power for size of car. No Check Engine Light or any other thing to blame on. Eventually it got so bad that 40 miles and above car will not go any futher and it was making significant noise as if you are running car on third or fourth gear and gear are not shifting to move car at all. Took Car to four different mechanic who claim to be Mercedes expert and below was the response:
1) Reflash ECU and TCU (Basically upgrade computer software). He charged me $120 for diagnosis. Did not perform this repair.
2) Change Engine. Did not perform this repair
3) Some issue with Rear Deferential. Cost is $500 Labor + Part. Did not perform this repair.
4) Took it to dealer. Rear Left Wheel Bearing is bad. $390 Labor + $600 Part = $990. Did not accepted repair, charged me $120 Diagnostic fees.
Finally, I decided to change both rear Wheel Bearing which fixed the problem and my car have received new life. it is running great like new. Current Mileage on car is 130K.
I bought NTN 1649810406 two bearing $60 each X 2 = $120.
Labor to install both Wheel Bearings was $150.
I almost feel, now a way most mechanics knows how to fix problem only if you tell them what exactly needs to be fixed. Very limited number of mechanics knows what they are doing and able to diagnose problem correctly first time.

Great job!
That's awesome you were able to get the parts for so much cheaper and do the labor yourself. From working on Nissans, Volkswagens, Toyotas, and Hondas, usually doing the labor yourself paid for the tools you needed then you had tools for the next repair. In this example, you were way out on top.
