ML Rust Proofing

Hi guys. Has anyone gone trough the trouble of rust proofing their ML's?

Up here in Canada it's a must. With my previous cars I always did it and also drilled into the panels to have the inside of the panels coated also.

Would the ML's electronics and wiring be fine if I did this to the ML also?

Thanks.

I used Krown. I did it first time 3 years ago and I did it again this year ...

I am not sure if it is too late to do it right now due to some salt or other dirt could be under neat. I am usually doing in October when it is getting colder ...

Also, be sure that you don't park car in front of your house for first 7 days You are going understand later way

Thanks. I tend to give the ML a detailed underbody washdown once a week even in the summer. So any possible salt that was put on the car this week can easily be removed prior to spraying it.

I've done rustcheck before, not krown and I know what you mean. 1 day off the driveway. But 7 days for Krown? Damn.

Don't get rust proofing done. They will drill holes into your car, our previous ML had 18-20 holes drilled into it. If you do plan on doing it, make sure they use the factory holes. I believe there are already holes. My was done by Krown also. After that it always feels like a window is open, due to the holes. I'm not sure if it's only me but that's my story

To late. Got it done. Went with Krown.

And I'm glad I did. The holes they drilled are very discrete and you have to look for them and they plugged them with caps. I had to look for them.

I've had it a couple days done and don't notice any noise or anything besides 2 days of dripping.

I think it's never to soon to treat it. The earlier the better.

One day you walk out to your car and BAM. Its happened.

I went with the Krown treatment. It cost $119 CAD + Tax.

Be careful with rust, the holes they drill and cap I've read will eventually rust since they don't take the time to cover the exposed metal with touch up paint.
