mass airflow sensor help

hi guys, can someone help please?
my ML320 cdi 2006 has thrown up fault code P0100, which is the mass airflow sensor A circuit.
So today I went to my local factors to get a new one and found that the ones they stocked were a different fitment to the one already on mine.
The ones they had had holes for screws to secure them in place where as mine is held in place with a small metal clip.
They said they were the only ones they had listed and stocked.

I did a little searching on the net and found that the only ones I could find listed on ebay etc were like the ones the motor factor had and I even read somewhere that they are no longer available and the only way to fix it is to have to buy the whole air intake pipe with the two MAF sensors attached.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue please?
Also, if I was able to replace the sensor how do I establish which of the two MAF sensors is faulty?
Also what does it mean "A circuit"

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Mercedes ML320 CDI 2006
yeah thanks for the comment...very helpful

The main questions were to look at my options and not looking at skimping on cost, all previous MAFs I have fitted have been purchased through a local motor factor and not a main dealer, however the part cant be purchased separately and has to be bought as a complete pipe with sensors attached.
