2010 ML Device unavailable fibre optic issue
Hi guys, I have searched endlessly to solve this issue, I have checked all the fuses and have unplugged components under the rear seat to reset them with no success. I have a fibre optic feedback loop to help with diagnosis.
In the image bellow, I have a optic signal to the plug in the yellow box, leading me to believe that the command unit is ok...however I have no signal to the plug in the red box. Does that mean I have to look upstream of this component to find the problem? If thats the case can anyone tell me which component to look at and where it is? I was going to check the amp under the drivers seat but wanted to see if anyone could provide insight before removing the drivers seat or cutting up the carpet.....
Any help would be much appreciated, This is a really frustrating problem to have.

unplug the fibre optic cable in the red box;
Look at the box itself to see if it is emitting a red laser(light).
then look at the fibre optic cable to see if it's emmiting a red laser (light)
You may need to turn off and on the command system (radio) in between these tests.
Why do you think the amp is the issue? Do you not have any audio from the radio?

NO audio at all, the command just displays "Device unavailable" and there is no sound at all.
I'll look to see if the component in the red box is emitting a signal, I didn't think to check that... I just looked at the plug that goes into it and it did not have the red light being emitted from it....
