OEM Battery, or aftermarket options?

Hey guys.

So, the white battery light came on, and I'm going to have to get under the seat to do the auxiliary battery. We've had the vehicle since 2013, so we know we're on borrowed time with the main battery anyway. I think I'm just going to swap it out while I'm in there.

The stealership wants $250 for a new battery and I thought I would ask you all if there was an aftermarket option that would be less pricey, but still get the job done. If not, I'm assuming that ordering online wouldn't be an option; the weight would have to negate any cost savings you'd get by ordering online, I would think. However, if you guys know of a better deal out there, I'd appreciate the "heads up".

Thank you!!!

You may want to list your model year and location.

Before replacing the main battery have it checked. They normally last about 6-7 years depending on your climate.

In the US, a good AGM main battery will run about $190 from one of the major auto parts stores such as Advanced Auto Parts.

Suggestion: Get a battery carrying strap to help you remove the battery:

These batteries are heavy and with the limited access you won't be able to pull it out by hand.

Also, don't forget to reattach the battery venting tube.

So you need to o replace auxiliary battery and the primary battery. Any AGM battery will work.

Yeah, sorry. It's an ML320 CDI. Should have said that from the start.

5hundo - you'll want to add the model Year to summary under your name.
