Best choice of shocks/struts for 2007 ML 350?

After 10 years of plying the roads our 2007 ML350 keeps on rolling...albeit w the need for shocks and struts.

I saw in a few posts that Bilsteins make for good replacements...any other steer from MBWorld members welcome!

We love our ML...will likely keep it forever....just drove it to Port Canaveral and back from Ohio over the holidays...

Replaced with Arnott last year, performance is quite standard. They provide detailed instructions for fitment and will also buy back the old core for the front suspension.

So the 2007 ML 350 has air suspension on all 4 wheels?

The local repair shop also said that they might not have a spring compressort big enough to put in new struts

Rauhbatz, The ML 350 Airmatic suspension comprises of shock absorbers and air-springs. In the front these come as composite units from the manufacturer and in the rear they are mounted separately. In these systems the air spring expands when air is forced into it from a compressor pump. This is therefore quite different from the older metal spring system which had coiled springs. Therefore if you are fitting the air suspension system you don't need to compress the spring, instead the air spring (also known as bellows) will fit in easily during the fitment process and will expand only after the vehicle is started.
