mystery vacuum hose

2004 s600. I just changed the spark plugs and when reassembling, there's this 4" vacuum hose attached to the left front of the left charge cooler and I can't for the life of me figure out where it goes. The left cooler doesn't have one.

In the Star library DVD, it mentions a "pneumatic" tube there, doesn't say where it goes, but does say it's "bonded" to the cooler and should not be separated --- whatever that means.

Some help would be appreciated.

I mispoke. It's attached to the left front of the right (not left) cooler.

it might be the vacuum line for the boost pressure sensor which is located on the air box cover. check to see that the sensor didn't get broken off in the vacuum line in the process. have seen this before

Thanks that's exacting what it is. Someone broke it off in the past and just glued it to the back on the sensor.

No prob. Make sure that you replace it. otherwise the engine will seem low on power because it won't produce proper boost.

Just happened to me... the nipple on the sensor is so fragile and snaps easily with the still tubing that MB uses. Just had to order a new one. Super glued for the time being.

I have broken the map sensor nipple on both of my cars. You can find a new one on ebay for $55.

Hi, got car back from dealer yesterday, had ICM replaced. Took engine cover off, saw a 4" rubber hose off passenger side IC hanging, where on air box does it get attached?

Nevermind, attaches to sensor attached to an arm that is crewed into one side of ICM
