Both have V12, turbo. 0-60 in under 5 seconds, but the S has a bigger engine (6L vs 5.5) so a bit more power.
Fuel econ is almost the same, with the 57 one or two miles better in the city, which is nonsense if you ask me. My question to you is--if you're buying a Maybach, why do you care about fuel "economy"? Maybach and "economy" are not compatible. If you're worried or if you even give a rip about fuel economy, then Maybach is probably not your best choice!

Good luck, and post some pics if you buy one of these very exotic and rare machines!

P.S. Limbaugh drives a 57s if I'm not mistaken?

Think of the S version like a brother to an AMG version. The S gets a black grill, sportier wheels, and carbon fiber trim and available contrast piping on the seats. Don't see many standard versions anymore, but they are still available.
Heres a link to a 57S.

57S

I have not driven the regular 57, only the 57S, and I can tell you it is the performance Maybach. It will easily run with the most agressive AMG in performance with fantastic compliant roadholding and acceleration, despite the enormous mass and incredibly luxurious interior. As serene as any limo in ride comfort until you push, and then it transforms. It has the same marked contrast from benign to supreme supercar that one gets when driving the McLaren SLR at a modest pace and then flooring it: I kid you not, the 57S is an eye-opening performance car that pampers you at every turn, leaning more towards "sport" than "lux." If cost is not a factor and you need only one car to do everything, superbly, without compromise, the 57S is an excellent choice.
