The DLM V3 offers the same features as its earlier versions, but has many improvements. Renntech have lowered the unit's power consumption by 50%. The DLM still requires no wire splicing or soldering, but now sports even less wiring. Installation time averages 40 minutes for the first time installer with additional time necessary for the routing of the USB cable laptop interface. The Mercedes-Benz specific DLM V3 also supports speed-lowering that allows the vehicle to return to its factory ride-height at a pre-set speed.

With the lowering module you have much more control than something like a lowering link, such as lowering your suspension with a remote when needed. Here is a good thread about the module on MBWorld that may give you some more insight about the product. At post #35 Renntech lists some good info about the differences of the V2 and the V3:
Current consumption:
The V2 module utilizes 60mA of power, which was cut in half with the development of the V3 units which use a mere 30mA of current. This decrease in power consumption improves vehicle battery life as well as strain on the vehicle's sensitive electronic and charging system.
Adjustment Increments:
The V3 unit allows for more precise adjustments at all four corners of the vehicle. The V2 module adjusted ride height in 5mm increments where the V3 allows precise 1mm increments at all four corners. This is would be an important factor for adjustments such as suspension alignments and corner weighting. The V3 units also allows multiple preset height adjustment settings to be stored e.g. show, sport, stock, etc. so setting can be changed on the fly with the use of a laptop or remote.
Maximum Lowering:
The V2 unit allow a total lowering of vehicles suspension at a 50mm maximum. The V3 unit will allows the vehicle to sit as low as possible, even on the bump stops if that is what the customer so desired (though this is not recommended). This is an important factor for vehicles such as the ML/GL class with significantly more wheel gap where say an 80mm lowering gives the suspension a sporty, low look.
Speed-Dependent Lowering:
Speed lowering on the V2 module was limited to only a few select models and required the use of the remote. The V3 module allows speed-dependent lowering on all models and functions with or without the remote.
Module Dimensions: The V2 units were significantly larger units (90mm x 70mm x 35mm) which make installation in tight areas (such as underneath kick panels, or in tight trunk areas) a bit difficult. The V3 module is extremely compact (40mm x 65mm x 25mm) making its installation and mounting location much easier.
Installation:
The V3 module is extremely easy to install with first timers with basic mechanical ability around 20 minutes to fully install, test and button up. Its installation is almost half that required with the V2 as the V3 has a single connector which functions with the factory harness.
