Still don't like. Not enough emphasis on the cars and presenters still lack the charisma and chemistry of the brits.

Nice! That is what they are for.
Terek Stadium. A marvel construction. We did just electrics - lighting and l.a.x. s/v. Slovak firm did heavy work. Planning 2009, building 2010 and comleted a few months ago. Amazing speed. Opportunities with flat complexes too, whole area is really rebuilding. Makhachkala and Sochi are other great city with amazing architechture and natural beauty, Olympics and World Cup 2018 is a good thing for people of Sochi.
Look, I'm not originally from Russia but I spend about 2 weeks per year in the capital and about 8+ weeks more down south each and every year. While not perfect, I can read and write it fairly well - what you wrote is illegible and I do not believe you are Russian, rather someone who uses the shield and devices of the internet to pretend they are. That's your deal, but it seems Glasgow Gold has you figured out so I'll leave it to him.
1. You're welcome and again, that is one seriously fast car. Even better that it's a luxurious street car into the bargain. I really miss my SL (drunk driver), they are beautiful. 2. It's great when someone is cool and doesn't get angry/dangerous during what is meant to be a fun thing. That's when you can if they are a true enthusiast or just a poser. 3. You sound like a wise man. I've been trying to get some off-road goodies for the Land Rover but I've been warned ...

"1Thanks. Yeah, unless I'm racing someone that dips into the 10's, I'm normally on the right side of that race. 2Viper guy, was either bald, or very short hair. Looked to be a light skinned brother or of hispanic heritage. We chatted a bit after we slowed down to non-ludicrous speeds and he seemed completely cool. My guess is he was quite perplexed at what took place. I highly doubt he doesn't just pull away from most cars on the street. Same here. There was a mutual respect thing going on.... 3The Rover is stock. I've thought about it, but since it's the wifey's, I've decided to let it be."
Great story, thanks for posting. Sounds like your mods have made your SL even more formidable than it was from the factory. The new 5.5 twin turbo 63 with performance pack would likley put up a better fight in the lighter E with its new transmission, but looking at your times they would likely be taken care of too. Impressive. Only thing I'm not sure of is the size of your rims, they look way big. One question, convertible Viper and guy with a hat - was the guy bald by ...
SL600 vs Convertible Viper
"I was playing with a convertible black Viper w/ LED strips under the headlamps. I usually don't even mess around on public streets, but my adrenaline and pride got the better of me. Goes like this: Cruising around 70MPH, when I see what looks like Dodge Stealth headlights pulling up on me fast, real fast. I then notice the LED strips, but didn't think much of it, since I figured it was a Stealth, and not even worth my fuel. Then it darts out to my right, and pulls even with me. Then I see and hear it.... and man, does it sound glorious. He 'romp romp's' it a few times and moves over another lane to his right. Now, it's VERY rare for someone to challenge me in the SL. Not sure why, but its been a few Civics feeling froggy, a 360 Modena, and handful of ///M cars, that I usually make very ..."
Curious how you know this?

"These Russians from Moscow don't play around. They are serious and real car enthusiasts. The difference is that there it is respected and everyone in the country know's their cars(males and females). In the USA it's nerdy, unpopular and no one cares what car you drive etc. Also powerful cars fall to competent owners. It the way the jungle works there. Look at the dudes in all their videos, its grown men and not some stupid ass kids."
Exactly right, I though the same thing when I read his post. Rev matching is key, I spent years perfecting my heal and toe technique and now these SMG and dual-clutch boxes on the latest cars have come along and stolen my thunder.
Quoted from jrcart's post
"You're kidding about the throttle blipping, right? Not olnly does it put much less stress on your trans, torque converter and motor, more importantly it also allows for much smooth entry into a corner when everything is matched up rev wise."
Congrgrats, GLs are very nice. Engine, braking, handling, interior and space are superior to the LR3. They improved the first four for the LR4 but for moving 7 people in comfort a GL is hard to beat. I was deciding between the GL and LR4 for the other half and it was a close call with no wrong decision in my opinion. What do you not like about the wheels? The style? I like them. I wish our SUV had come with 17 inch tires or 18 inch but with the size of the brakes 19s ...
CLS has a new garage mate
"Last week I picked up an almost new (1550 km) 2010 GL450 for a replacement for the Land Rover LR3. After driving the GL for a week there is obviously no comparison to the LR3. I wasn't really looking for another black vehicle but I guess it makes for a decent set of Obsidian black MB vehicles in the garage. Surprisingly of all the vehicles I have owned over the years this is the first one that I have bought with a light colored interior. The more I drive it the more I like the two tone black and cashmere with the Dark Ash trim. The only things that I don't like so far are the stock 19 wheels which are an easy fix and the rear view camera. The camera is awesome but what bugs me is how long it takes to come when you are ready to go. You can't just jump in and turn the key and go ..."
Thanks for the pics. Pretty mild stuff but still it's always fun to get out there. Do you have the "off road package" and what does that include? also, what size rims are those?
GL450 4X4 Off Road
"Hi Guys, I took my GL450 up to the mountains for a little off road fun and thought I would share some of the photos. I was quite impressed with the traction the truck provided even with my nearly worn out tires. The forest service roads and trails were dry and loosely packed with some stumps and rocks to climb over. The trails were much steeper than they appear in the photos. I was worried I might get stuck so I screwed in the front recovery hook but never had to use it. The truck managed to maintain forward progress up the hill even when on three wheels. (pretty cool to see the brakes grab the wheel that was in the air from spinning while the other three propelled it upward)."
Wow, sounds amazing. Only issue would be the price. With the GL550 already $90k, this one will likely be about $110k before options. That's a lot of cash for an SUV that won't be able to really go off road.

To further what Saintz says, there have been ML-related issues. Also, their is a class action suit pending on the 6.2 liter engine.
If it is reliability you crave, I would be very wary of the US-made ML63, and this is coming from a Land Rover owner Also, as regards mini vans, a friend of mine has the 2011 Toyota Sienna and loves it with no issues in 30,000 miles. We actually used it when six of us went on a fishing trip. Loads of space. There is also the all-new Infiniti QX 4x4 which is massive but very tough if you replace the 20s with 18s.

"First time mercedes, AMG owner here, used CL65 and my experience has been all good. I wanted to first try out a used but in excellent condition AMG and its been so good that I'm pretty happy saving a boat load of cash. For the Wife/Family we bought a brand new Honda Odyssey a few years ago and it's really not that reliable (steering and brake/disc problems, etc). I've been shopping for a black AMG ML63 2009 or 2008 if the price/miles is right..to replace that Honda. My recommendation for you is a cherry mint used ML63! I've seen them as low as 55k.. And it's gonna have to drop soon hopefully. I'd probably love drving that AMG too.. I bought into the Xentry/Das Diagnostic Tool, so that will come in handy."
There is. It's not a huge chance, but it could have been the factor and by going aftermarket it does open up a legitimate argument for them. I'd just pay up and get on with other things.
Quoted from Jim Brady's post
"I Obviously this is bs, but trying to be objective and reason with the service department, I thought the board might give me some ammuniton if they have had similar experiences. Anyone have a shock failure with stock springs? Is there any remote arguement that a spring (H&R) change would cause a leak. Thanks for your help."
But this is precisely why some people like expensive cars with "blah" badges. For instance one of the wealthiest guys I know won't buy used as he is paranoid about how the car was treated/incidents. His latest purchase was a grey 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser, I think it was a little over $80,000 all said and done. I asked why he chose this truck. "It'll never leave me stranded, it'll keep my kids safe and 99 percent of people won't look twice at it thinking it's just ...

"Indeed. My friend works for AAA, and he said how insane it is when he sees how much some people pay for their Optioned out big Diesel Pickups. $60..$80+K. Talk about transportation that doesn't have the dollar-presence!"
Good work. Makes me miss my pre-facelift SL65. Only mistake was canning the evil stock 19s for those nasty wheels, but it sounds like you realize that so I won't bust your balls anymore.
SL65 project. Code name maximum "OverKill"
"What's up Mbworld, Haven't posted much lately. I just got done with my latest project. I took some pictures with my iphone 4. I figured it would be easier to document the build with some pictures and start a thread once it was completed. I find teaser threads to be slightly irritating unless those obligations are fulfilled within a reasonable amount of time. The thought of a black series body kit was being considered for all of about 4 hours. The next morning I woke up and decided that's not the direction I wanted to go with this project. It looks great and begs for attention. But, my friend wanted to drive his car to work and take his wife out to a nice dinner once in awhile. Not to the set of a rap video or an exotic car meet. I also wanted a classy look that was subtle yet ..."

Good report Ingenere, but I wouldn't fancy the same result against a 997TT. No comparison in sound, obviously.
It corners far better than an SL63. I haven't seen the test you're referring to but (unrelated to your point) Top Gear has become largely an "entertainment" show, unconcerned with accuracy.

"I agree, there trying to make a mid engine design from a front engine car. However it hasn't worked, not only does the nose look to long it does not corner very well, as they found out on Top Gear."
