yes the SL is a very attractive car, all around. cls as well. the E just looks like an old mans car to me. which i guess is great, if youre an old man.

"FYI I own/owned 2 new M's with this supposed sound enhancer (F10 M5 and F13 M6). I had my tech disconnect a fuse to stop the "sound" and there was no difference. Meaning, you cant tell if there is synthetic sound or not- just the sound of my modded Eisenmann Race roaring!!! And to mainly, I just got an SL63; now thats an interior. The nav screen is a little smaller than the M's but its closer to my eyesight so I actually like it better."

its no wonder he returned it. has to be one of the ugliest interiors of all time.
used 2014 FS at my local dealer
"hey guys figured id share this with you! my local dealer has a 2014 E63 S model for sale, i know the guy who owned it, great guy hes on here usually in the SLS section. But i thought if any of you have one on order similar to this combo you could have this car now vs waiting for yours to come in! heres the link: (P.S. mention my name (Nick Stanford) if you talk to a salesman, Bob Hamilton is the most knowledgeable about the AMG's)"

good lord here we go again.
Quoted from Patric's post
"So with a 508 awhp base it looks like the stock motor is a bit under stated adding the usual 20 percent drive train loss for AWD. It pencils out to about 609 hp at the crank or 32 above the advertised 577"
yeah 508 awhp makes more sense.
Quoted from Vic55's post
"I agree, Ive been tuning my cars for over 10 years and always do baselines (if there was one available) Lets not assume there wasnt a baseline because I didnt mention it: baseline was 508awhp--- tune took it to 588 awhp and now I confirmed 610 awhp with downpipes. So the tune was about 80 awhp..."
you think they're under rating the actual hp by 100 hp?
what do you mean? tune is still 100 hp more than a stock s AMG, 577hp vs 650-680 tuned.
Quoted from E55Greasemonkey's post
"as well as AMG offering from the factory what the aftermarket tuners are already offering, hence the "S" model...making an after market tune a moot point."
yeah i found that issue woth the cls too. as well as the back side bolsters. too narrow. even at widest setting.
2014 e63 amg s seats uncomfortable
"Is it possible to adjust the tension on the sides of the seats as they are too tight and irritating my IT band. The side bolsters make it worse."
not really feeling it. looks a little overdesigned to me. i like the regular sls.
SLS AMG Black Arrived!
"I went in for the S Class today and my dealer showed me this thing which just came in. I was skeptical about the added CF parts on the SLS since they didn't seem to compliment the car like the Aero Pack on the C Black, but after seeing it outside of pics and magazines I quickly realized pictures don't do this car justice. I'm surprised these aren't sold before arrival. You'd think they would be considering how limited they are but for those of you getting, one Here are a few pics as well. Excuse the camera quality."
this is almost as bad as the hamann M5. i honestly dont understand how these guys have a business doing these hideous things to beautiful cars.
Quoted from cal1's post
"Not really my cup of tea either. All of the off color panels reminds of a car that got three of four different colored body parts from the junkyard to replace damage and never repainted the whole car."
hmm.. gee not really all that impressive for awd e63 WITH a tune. i would have expected it to be 11.0 -11.2? and what the hell mods did that cts-v have ??
E63S vs Audi S8 at drag strip
"My tuned E63S vs my tuned Audi S8 at drag strip, both on 93 Octane, and me driving."
holy jesus christ. @2:00 look at the sl just walk away at 299km/h
SL63 AMG vs Yamaha R1

HUD a must? nonsense. i for one am not impressed with the HUD in my m5. the last two m5's ive owned had them and i dont think i could see one useful reason for them. they dont show anything that isnt already in the instrument cluster. plus even with the tach display on the HUD being more inline with your field of view i still ALWAYS find myself looking down at the actual tach guage. my eye is just more naturally drawn towads an actual object than a projected digital ...
Quoted from stealth.pilot's post
"I want a modern up to date car. You may tolerate dark ages technology which makes Jaguar and Lexus look modern, but I don't. It's not about movies or entertainment. I don't use that content in my car. It's about information conveyed in a more useful and elegant way. HUD is a must in a car like this. And a larger Nav screen is important because split screen allows you to view more info in a more useable way. Then there is usability. The current mercedes system was designed by idiots. For example the power button for the radio also switches off the bluetooth. What genius designed that!"
what in lords name is that supposed to be on the front bumper?
P40SC's are back: Gloss Charcoal
"I think they turned out nice.......glad to have the concavity back too..... blue wheels are gone very happy I went with gloss instead of flat too.......much nicer to my eyes P40SC 19/ Gloss Charcoal"
its a crap option, i had it. you cant drive the car looking at it so its pointless. and i dont believe it automatically comes on if it detects a pedestrian ...
just not seeing the attraction with this car. interior or exterior. sooorry.
alot? can you be more specific? pitch, deeper, louder? how did it change?
Quoted from NickE63's post
"Yes exhaust changed alot with down pipes, not much from inside, which is perfect for my wife so I don't hear her complaining"
sounds great. do teh downpipes change the exhaust note much, like is it better after the dp's?
E63 Exhaust note
"Got my new Liquid Image Ego camera, so the first vid i took was a vid of my exhaust note, car is running on left over VP109 from my visit to englishtown, for some reason it does a lot of snap crackle popping when on that fuel. Enjoy, spun few gears, set of an alarm"
YES. thats what ive been trying to say. probably mostly picked up in the 60 foot. but some of the runs were over a year ago and i dont keep all the slips. actually my best with the cls went from 12.22 down to 12.0 flat with race start. the 11.9 (down from 12.2) was with the m5 with LC. at 122.88 mph. as well i should note that with race start/LC, times were consistantly better! just plain old launching off idle, rolling on throttle, etc, etc, my times would vary alot. ...
Quoted from callmiro's post
"Wow....11.9 with a stock CLS. Impressive So you picked up 2 10ths with RaceStart? Where did you pic it up....60 ft or MPH?"
nothing to verify it? and how exactly are you able to conclude that? yes i stated race start would yield better results at the track. because i TESTED it myself. at a track. short memory? are you telling me what i did and didnt do now? i said before, that i was speaking from my own personal experience of racing both the m5 and the AMG at the track using race start vs no race start. and i got better results(faster times) using race start and LC. i achieved 2 tenths ...
Quoted from callmiro's post
"Do you approach every one of your posts as a new thought or do you even remember what you wrote? You're the one that stated Race Start would yield better results at the track. This is a result of your seat of the pants analysis. You have nothing to verify this. I'm stating at the track, race start would be a disadvantage. I'm quoting magazine results as well as feedback from owners."
so you're sayinig that a couple of 10ths difference between using race start vs not using it could only be measured at a place like a track? well thats kinda what were talking about here, track results. isnt it? first you say race start is for more of a street application, but then go on to contradict it with "they would never know if it yielded a better result without data, from a track"
Quoted from callmiro's post
"My point is that they would never know if it yielded a better result without data, from a track. It would just be a seat of the pants experience."
