I actually did that myself. I split the headlights apart removed all the inner pieces and had them painted put it all back together and re-sealed them. If you attempt it just take your time and be patient you can easily break or damage them and there not cheap to replace. It wasnt easy to do so trying this is a bit risky. The only piece i didnt paint is the reflector cup on the high beam if that gets painted your high beams wont work well.
