In the 2013 loaner cars I have had the luxury version head restraint is entirely different than the sport. Indeed, nearly pillow soft.
Luxury vs Sport Headrest
"I'm having such a difficult time confirming this. I read ONE post on benzworld (post #21)..haven't seen a claim like this anywhere else. This person says the headrests in the luxury version are softer. I am under the impression that the seats are the same between the two versions, including the headrests. Can anyone who has ridden in both confirm a diff in headrests? I only ask because it might be nice to swap out headrests, since my seating position relies a lot on resting my head against it. thanks!"
No changes to the sidemarkers.. They don't bother me. I know a lot of people change them but I really don't mind the look.
"I picked up this 2011 C300 back on March 28 this year with 11,580 miles. I had really wanted one with P1 and P2 but this P1 car was such a steal that I had to go with it. Here it is the day I brought it home: I hated the rims, though. So I fixed it: Then it had to go into the dealer for some work and they loaned me a Lux model, with a standing star on the hood. I came from a 2005 C230 Sport with a standing star and until this point I didn't realize how much I missed that traditional touch on the sedans. So I fixed that, too: And halogen headlights suck, so thanks to TRS.. So now I have it pretty much exactly how I want it as far as exterior looks. I plan to eventually do an Infinity speaker upgrade like a lot of people here. But first I am seriously considering an OE tune. There was a ..."
Yep, looks new. My father's car is the same year, model, transmission and color scheme. He has no P1, but has multimedia. He's got 41,000 miles and it is still like new. How many miles are you at?
Is It Really Five Years?
"In a couple of months, it will be! Just did the wash-clay-seal-wax routine and it's always felt like new, and still looks it, too. Five years, and hardly broken-in yet! Easily the highest quality car I've ever had, and seems it will last a long time. New wheels, side markers, grille, hood badge Mud flaps, roof and trunk spoiler, diffuser, tail lamp trim Steering wheel and gearshift knob. Can't see the antisway bars or strut tower brace, but those help to keep it feeling young! "

The stock Sport trim is already too low for my preference. After having two loaner Lux trims, I think I'm going that route next time. Much better ride and not a very noticeable difference in handling. Looks a bit plain, though.
Quoted from C300Sport's post
"Considering many things such as how she was already at almost a 45 degree angle to exit the driveway, you may want to re-label the clip to "why you shouldn't slam you car so low it becomes impractical". "
That looks like a real PITA.. good luck with it.. looks like you and your friends are very proficient. That's a factory defect if I've ever seen one, by the way.
Finally fixing my balance shaft!
"I was able to get ahold of the parts that I need and start tearing into this project. -Disconnected the battery -Removed lower engine covers -Removed top engine cover and air filter assembly -Drained the coolant -Removed the top radiator support which required disconnecting hood latches -Removed electric fan assembly -Disconnected the upper and lower radiator hoses from the engine -Disconnected the power steering pump and A/C compressor from the engine but left them plumbed. -Disconnected a few connectors on the harness that goes to the rear driver's side of the top of the engine. There was also some sort of air line that I disconnected. -Removed the MAF elbow -Removed the exhaust at the manifold and at the joint just ahead of the rear axle (and broke all three bolts so those will have ..."

Tommy's awe-inspiring Ccoupe
"Even though I've been here well over 8 years (though only one avatar, as was recently pointed out to me), I've never had a cetral repository for my car's progress. So, this will now serve as a record of my car's ups, downs, and I'm sure some interesting feedback. Looking through my Picturetrail account, I'll see how far back in the car's history I can go. OK, here's the oldest pic I have in my gallery: It's got: Mark Cummings' starless grille, the stock C7 rims powdercoated gloss black, the stock frosties (ugh), and that's about it at this point. Next: My car was the gineau pig for Renntech's 3-piece rear spoiler, back in the days before they switched to a one-piece (though I guess they now don't make either) It's also sporting the rear tails that I had smoked. And shows off my poor ..."
You must have spilt/folding rear seats? Try letting them down and then putting them back up. Slam them back up forcefully.
Seat not locked message
"Hey all, I purchased an 05 c230 kompressor sedan a couple weeks ago for the wife, well the "drivers seat not locked" message keeps coming up. I've searched here and google and all the answers are for coupes/convertibles that have seats that flip up for rear entry/exit. Ive tried to look up under the seats for some kind of switch but no success. The power seat works just fine but the message annoys the wife. Any help before I take it in would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott."
Do you have the HK Logic 7 system? Are you streaming BT audio? I just got out of a 2013 rental car with the HK7 system and streaming audio from my iPhone was astonishingly terrible. I knew BT streaming was low quality but I know now I'll never be able to use that feature when/if I pick up a 2013+ C in the future.
New to the MB world...and my new 2013 W204 HQ Pix..hope you enjoy
"Recently moved from Los Angeles...needed a car.... White/Black with all the goodies finding a sport model here in New England was a *****...people here really have poor taste in their "cahs" "
Weird equipment on that car. MM and Bi-X but no P1. The packages were shuffled after 2009. In 2008-2009 it was hard to find one without P1 in my area. My '11 has P1 but no Bi-X and no MM.
2011 w204 rain sensor
"Recently I brought my new to me 2011 w204 4matic sport in for a waranty issue, i thought... I noticed that my automatic windshield wipers that run off the rain sensor on the windshield behind the rear view mirror were not working. After a few days of diagnosis, the techs at MB determined that my car did not even have the rain sensor option... News to me since the salesman explained how to use them during my test drive of the Certified pre-owned. Vehicle has, or I thought it had, every option... the mulitmedia package, bi-xenon package and the AMG wheel and tire package for the memory drivers seat and rear back up camera... The sales man said the only options it did not have was the memory drivers seat, automatic lowering side mirrors and the rear back up camera. So, my question ..."
It definitely has a 7-speed. It does not sound like you have an issue. There's not that much difference between 6 and 7th.
2011 w204 transmission gears
"I did some searching and could not find my answer. My 2011 w204 4matic sport I THOUGHT had a 7 speed automatic transmission however when I switch to manual mode it only has 6 forward gears... Is there an extra over drive gear when in true automatic or is my car only a 6 speed? Not a big deal either way, just curious "
Thanks for the guidance. I've ordered the parts necessary.
Today I dropped my car off at the dealer and got a 2013 C250 Lux as a loaner, so it has the standing star. My previous 2005 C sport had the standing star and until today I did not realize how much I miss that. I've decided to convert my 2011 Sport grille to the luxury version and add the standing star. Could someone point me to a tutorial on how to change the grille and add the star?
Do you have warranty? A component fault.. may need a new ESL.
I would have thought the 2012s had updated parts already, but I'll say it anyway. My 2011 C300 had a front end rattle that was fixed by replacing the front struts.
C300 Front End Rattle
"Anyone else have this problem? Noise occurs on rough roads. Sounds like it's coming from driver's side, front. I thought it was the plastic shield that had a broken fastener, but after fixing that the noise is still there."
Maybe it is that I don't come from six-figure cars, rather from Japanese brands. Ever slammed a door on an Acura TSX? Now that is tinny. The Benz doors are not at all tinny. Despite the TSX's tinny doors, though, the car is stout and safe. And so is the Benz. It's this sort of unreasonable attitude - I don't like the way the door sounds = the car is unsafe - that makes me doubt the validity of next issue... And as I told you in the other thread, I don't buy into the surge ...

"Thanks a lot for your input. The wife had: Jaguar S type 4.0, then BMW 528i, then the 335i, now this C250. I personally owned the BMW Z4 Ď13, now presently SL550 í11. I still believe the problem is a factory defect regarding this model. We are going to pursue it as a lemon law problem. And get back to you all on the outcome. The doors are without a doubt tinny and thin as compared to other car doors. I will admit itís not a $115k car either. But, itís supposed to give the driver a feeling of safety."
Well I don't know about the autobeam lights, but do the 2013s still have the two settings for the rain sensor? Mine has two sensitivity settings. One for less, one for more. You might use the more sensitive feature? The seat noise if it does it every time should be able to be fixed. If you have heated seats, are you hearing the heating mat in the seat pop perhaps? My '11 did this for about 3 weeks but then stopped.
Quoted from Marc Hufnagel's post
"I know I can turn off the autobeam lights and rain sensitive wipers, but they are touted as nice extra features that get mentioned in the sales pitch and should work right."
Did you have huge rims on the E90? The rims you have on your C300 are not helping the ride complaints you have. I don't have to floor the throttle for a downshift in my 2011. It is less responsive than in S mode, but no need to floor it. If you are yo-yo'ing the gas pedal at any point you're defeating yourself. The 7G does not like this at all.
Quoted from beneliezer's post
"My specific complaint about the 7G is the fact that in 'E' mode the throttle response is nearly non-existent. I came from a comparable vehicle (06 3-series) where I didn't have to mash the throttle to the floor to achieve a downshift. I know the car HAS power, because in S mode its a different car altogether. but alas, I shouldn't need to press the button."
You take that back!
Okay, having driven a C250 for a week I know what you're saying about the "surge" thing. It was a little difficult to get used to.. press down on the throttle and nothing..nothing.. then a sudden gush of power. I was used to the smooth, even power delivery of my V6. But I did get used to the C250 and, by the time my week with it was up, I enjoyed its spunky character. My C300 felt like it was towing a 53' trailer when I got it back. That saying the engine is too small for ...
Quoted from ahr69's post
"Boy do I feel for you guys. My wife has her C250 '13 since March 10, 2013. She hates the car. She complains: The car surges forward when she accelerates from a stop, like at a light, which has made her fearful of driving it. The car only has 900 miles on it and is 3 and a half months old. It sits in the garage; she won’t even drive it, for fear of an impending accident. She almost hit a car before at a light last week and subsequent times before in traffic. She also can't stand the tinny feel from the door closing on the driver’s side. Which makes her feel un-safe driving the car? The seats are giving her headaches from the non-padding of the seat backs. We've been in touch with chef mechanics regarding the surge problem and have been told this one: The car is too big for the ..."
