W211 E500 4matic engine oil capacity??
The owner's manual for my 2005 E500 4matic indicates that the engine oil capacity is 8 US quarts or 7.5 liters. When I changed the oil at 6300 miles I removed about 7.85 liters using a Mityvac extractor and an additional 150ml through the drain plug. A total of 8 liters. Can anyone confirm the factory specification for the engine oil capacity in the 2005 E500 4matic? I am trying to determine if the manual has a misprint, or if the oil was overfilled from the factory.
I refilled the engine with 8 US quarts. The dashboard oil level test reported "okay" both before and after the oil change.

Owner's manual is incorrect?
So you are saying that the owner's manual has the incorrect value for the engine oil capacity? I think my engine number is 113.969.

MB district rep says 8 liters
I attended the ML Rally event today and ran into the MB district rep. He says the E500 oil capacity is 8 liters and that the 8 quarts listed in the owner's manual is without a filter change. If he weren't in sales I would consider this authorative info. I think I will wait until I see something official for the 113.969 E500 engine variant before I top up to 8 liters.

I received a message to top up the engine oil. MB dealer said that I need to use Mobil 5w40. At home, I have a quart of Mobil 5w30 - does anyone see an issue if I top up by mixing the two oils?
