Time between Services

So, it has been 7,500 miles since my last service (C I believe). The car says that I have 5,900 miles until my next service (I think C, but maybe A). Should I have it done at 10,000 like I was told or when the car says to?

Personally I decide based on what the service indicator suggests. You obviously don't drive the car hard and perhaps accumulate a lot of highway miles. These are just 2 of the factors that determine service frequency. The Merc. service indicator is determined by Mercedes and therefore in my opinion is what should be observed.

I do oil + filter changes (DIY) every 5K miles and ignore the service interval indicator, except to reset it. It's a small expenditure of time (45min) and money ($70) for peace of mind.
