Changed Manifold Gaskets, Does Anybody Know What This Hole Is For?

Does anybody know what the hole located under the secondary air valve (which is usually on), on the driver side front of the motor, between the intake and the valve cover. I just changed my intake manifold gaskets and did not pay attention when I was taking it apart. I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything on it because I do not know what it does or is called. Is it supposed to be open? Please help. Thank you
