m113 inlet manifold

Hello I am new to Mercedes , I have just bought a clk55 amg. I have removed the air filter top cover and on the left bank the're is an oil leak which looks to be coming from the inlet manifold, I am concerned as I have read about breather issues and the manifold filling with oil. I don't really understand the breather system yet but have read something about a breather gallery near the crank seal which can get blocked and cause oil to build in the intake. My question is can I take the top off the intake to have s look inside it, I have read it's designed to be sealed for life .

Some pictures would be great if you have any. That actually sounds more like the valve covers leaking which is fairly common on these cars. Pretty simple fix too.
