722.6 07 transmission Friction Plates
Im rebuilding my Tranx. The torque converter failed and made a mess.
My transmission (722.607) comes with double sided friction plates, i was wondering if anyone knows if i can fit single sided friction plates from the newer models? This ones are better cause there is more friction area.
It seems in this manual that they are compatible, but im not 100% sure...

Pretty sure you can change to single sided frictions but unless you're planning to add a supercharger or changing to a V8 I wouldn't worry about upgrading, they can handle the torque just fine in standard configuration. Make sure you replace both one way clutches while it's apart.

Well, my car is a little modded. It makes near to 250bhp. Im not planning to supercharge it in the short term, i have a m113 e37 engine to swap on.
It would be better to update de frictions now that the transmission is disassembled, the cost for both friction kits is the same.
Do you know of anyone that have done this before?
