Instrument Cluster programming on C230 series
Hi
The instrument cluster on my C230 (Yr:2007) died and a local garage offered to supply and fit a second hand replacement. Although all seemed well at first it soon became apparent that the panel was not displaying system faults, or reading system information. In particular the odometer reading was not correct.
The garage claimed I brought this to their attention too late for them to correct. However I have since checked several forums and found others seem to have similar problems.
Can any one confirm please whether in principle fitting and reprogramming a second hand display cluster is possible by anyone other than an authorised MB dealer? I am now thinking this is a job the garage should not have attempted, as they wouldn't have had the necessary equipment to perform this. Any thoughts / comments please would be very helpful.
Thanks
