2002 CLK55 AMG P0715 code
Long story short, I recently had my W208 serviced by my mechanic. Sat idle in my garage for nearly 8 months. The car was stuck in limp mode. They put a new battery in it and said everything was great. New tires, brakes,b service and a $3100 bill! Car is back and goes into limp mode or some version of it every time I drive it! CEL came on and this is the code my autozone gave me. HELP!

Two (only possible) issues come to mind but there may be others. Please don't jump to any conclusions until a good diagnostic is done. I had that code with a PO020 if I remember, and it was the transition conductor plate. I also seem to remember someone spilling a soda in the shifter area and messing the electronics in there and I think that caused that code also.

So true. Seriously though, if it is a conductor plate, can this job be done by anyone with some mechanical knowledge and ablity? Does it require any kind of Mercedes Benz download?

Yes, I did it. But it does require programming afterwards by a Mercedes tech. I replaced my conductor plate myself and then I had the programming done by a local Indy. Merc. Mech. That's one reason I wondered where you are located.
But there may be many other things that give that code.
I have always been the one to do almost everything by myself but this CLK55 has me swaying towards a paid diagnosis first. I've wasted a whole lot of time on the forums first an still missed things. However Marcus F. has steered me strait also.
