Steering Assist Adaptive vs Standard Difference?

I am in a new GLE63 2016. The steering assist has two modes "Standard" and "Adaptive". Can someone shed light on the difference between the two? I drove with both but couldn't tell what the difference was.

Any tech help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not a tech, but... Your steering rack has an electrical connector near where the pump lines are attached. This changes the response of the power steering system such that wheel force is relatively constant at all speeds. Try checking again noting the steering feel sitting still vs hwy speeds.
