Recently my trunk will lower but not fully engage the latch and close. I need to apply a little downward pressure after the trunk lowers and then it latches. If I don't press down it just keeps trying to close without success.

I searched but couldn't find a thread addressing the cause of the problem and how to get it fixed. How much should I expect to spend to correct this problem??

First you need to define the problem and as you do not have the knowledge of the system or the diagnostics you are left with the HS responses like this one---you need to find an indy with DAS Xentry diagnostic tool or equal to define the problem----once the fault is defined one can access the cost!!
