Power steering function M156

I'm retrofitting a M156 engine into an old pickup truck. On the power steering pump there's a 2-pin connector. Is this to control the pressure of the fluid from the pump?

IS the M156 from a pre 2012 car?

Yes, I think it's a 2010.

I think that there are several functions, but I have read (in Mercedes literature) that post update the power steering pump is designed to freewheel until there is a direction change, so it would have at least a fast networking to the ECU, which would then turn on and off maybe a clutch.
The Mercedes article claimed a noticeable percentage of fuel economy, as well as some from the clutches of the MCT, however the car did not return any gas mileage savings, as compared to the pre facelift one.
