Garage door opener. Help needed.

Hi,

I have the feature installed on my 02' SL500 but I don't know how to program it. Can anyone help?
My owner's manual is in french and I don't understand anything.

Thank you,

I assume you mean the built in homelink transmitter. Try this: Home Link

I don't know if it's a homelink transmiter. I have 3 buttons built in the central rear mirror.

That's it. The link should give you the instructions you need. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work the first time. According to the instructions for rolling code openers (like Genie, what I have), the LED on the mirror will start flashing fast once it's learned the code. Not true. I tried this several times and gave up thinking something was broken or my GDO was new and not yet supported so I never finished the programming and tried it. It turns out that it did work and still does. It just didn't work exactly as the instructions said. Has much better range than my remotes as well, so you can open the door at a distance and roll in without stopping.

If you have the rolling code garage door opener then you have to follow all the steps not just the last few steps. First delete the codes, then program using the garage door remote then program the same button using the learn button (usually red in color) on the garage door oepner itself. I learned the hard way. Luckily my honda minivan had the correct instructions in it's manual so I followed it on my E430, after struggling for a week.

I just did it on my E55. It's not hard even if you do have a rolling code garage door opener. You can also call the MB customer service line and they have an automated message that'll tell you how to do it too.
