ABS, ESP Unavailable. Ser Operator's Manual

That's the message my dash started showing moments ago while cruising at 40mph.

Pulled at a gas station. Turned off and then back on...starts just fine. And it appears it drives fine too.

Any ideas? I'm in a 2010 ML63.

Restarted the car three times and messages disappeared. Drove it home ...slow, fast, twisties, stop&go...no new messages.

Weird.

Went for a short drive around the neighborhood this morning (25mph). No lights initially. Made a 90° turn to the right at an intersection and heard/felt the left front wheel locking on me for a split second and of course, the stupid light went off.

Drove the car home, no more wheel kicking but lights will stay on...

This is ridiculous, car has only 29k miles on it. I have put 143k miles on my Ford F-150. The truck has not need anything other than oil changes, tires and one battery at a third of the price of an ML63. I'm pissed off if anyone can read between the lines.

Additionally the ML63 is babied, driven on weekends only while I use the truck in construction, many times on 4x4...thru ditches, towing trailers and it rides like a new car....it does not make sense.

That is suspect No. 1 by reading thru posts with similar subjects.

I've been postponing the purchase of new tires. The rears are done specially, compared to the front ones. I wonder if this would have anything to do with it.

Seems that one way or another I will have to go to the dealership. My car is a 2010 so it should still be covered under warranty, specially if it is a faulty sensor.

UPDATE: Took it to the stealership. They replaced all four wheel speed sensors at no cost under manufacturers warranty. No more dash lights.

It happens because of a mismatch of info coming from the various sensors that input into the esp and abs systems.

I got it when i put my car on a dyno (c63). After driving for a bit, it re calibrated itself.

Not always true. ESP light can mean a ton of different things. Many sensors are hooked to it. Mine was the intake manifold wiring harness.

Fortunately still under factory warranty until nov. Dealer suspects wheel sensors. I'll post up the final fix.
