I can't seem to find a common leak from the top of this engine and can't pinpoint where it is coming from.
I have a 2000 ML55 and just after 1 day of cleaning the area, it's a mess again. Its a pretty substantial leak, not coning from the rocker cover. Look like its near the secondary air pump.
Any ideas?
right up my alley.....timing belt/chain inspection port. just to the left of the a/c compressor pulley, it only leaks when the crankcase(cylinder block) is under pressure, meaning while it's running down the road. It does not leak while it's sitting still, that's why the leak looks worse than it really is, as it slobbers down the timing cover, the air from the road and the cooling fan throws it all over the front of the motor. youtube "Mercedes ml430 oil leak" the author is "vsandvs" explains it well.
