I have 21" wheels on my 2009 and the tires are shot and loud and harsh as crap. Makes my old 2007 on 19" rubber feel like a limo - the old car had less rattles and squeaks.

I aim to find all rattles and squeaks and get rid of them, but want good summer tires - don't mind if soft compound, just want grip and quietness with a decent ride.

Looking at Toyo Proxes T1 Sport SUV 295/40 R21's to get a little more sidewall... otherwise my choices are Vredestein Ultrac Vori/Michelin Latitude Sport 3/Dunlop SP Quatrromaxx/or Pirelli P Zero 295/35 R21

The old Conti DWA are not avail in 21" and the UHP are crap.

The ride of the Toyo tires was a softer more comfortable ride than the Nittos I have now but the Nittos lasted longer. The more sidewall the quieter the ride.

Bazman, what did you decide on? My Vred 295/35-21s need to be replaced. It seems that size has been discontinued.

I'm thinking of going to a 295/40-21 as well (which is how I stumbled on this thread).

It's going on the family 2013 ML63. I haven't updated my profile in a long time, lol.

Went with Michelin Latitude Sport 3. Hope to pick it up today and expecting a much nicer tire. Will report in once I've done a few miles

Continental DW tires are amazingly soft and compliant, and their grip is awesome (especially in the wet). Check to see if they come in your size (they should)

The Dunlop SportMaxx have been fine for me and I use the Pirelli Scorpion for winter. No complaints on either.
